NSF GRFP General Information Session

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, social science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.  This fellowship provides support for up to 3 years of graduate study including tuition, a generous living stipend, and other benefits.

This information session will cover general topics including:

  • Eligibility
  • Award Benefits
  • Application Procedure and Deadlines
  • Tips for Crafting a Competitive Application

Interested students are urged to read the eligibility guidelines on the NSF GRFP web site before attending the  meeting.  Please note that:

  • U.S. Citizens/Nationals and Permanent Residents (e.g. “Green Card” holders) are eligible to apply.  International students who do not hold U.S. permanent residency at the time of application are not eligible.
  • Students are only eligible to apply for this award during a short window of time near the beginning of first-time graduate study.  Students who already hold graduate degrees are NOT eligible.  Please consult the guidelines for more information.
