Boren Fellowships Info Session – Farifax

October 13, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Learn more about opportunities for fully funded overseas study, research, and language training for graduate students through the Boren Fellowships Program.  A representative of the Boren Awards for International Study will be at Mason’s Fairfax campus to take your questions, along with the Boren Fellowships campus representative, Director of Graduate Fellowships Dr. Kay Agoston.

The Boren Fellowships program seeks graduate students who are U.S. citizens interested in topics related to national and international security, peace, and development, and who wish to study a language and a region outside western Europe – including Arabic, Chinese, Turkish, Russian, Korean, and many many more.  The Boren Fellowships program is open to graduate students in ALL fields of study.

Boren Fellowships  can be used to fund overseas research, study, and professional development that includes language training. Domestic language study may also be supported in combination with overseas training.

Alumni of this program agree to work for the U.S. Federal Government for one year after graduation, making it a great stepping stone for students interested in government and policy-related careers.

The application deadline for Boren falls in January 2016.  However, since the application requires considerable advance planning and preparation, interested students are encouraged to attend NOW to learn more about the process.
